Wow this was a great place to spend a weekend. Definitely felt very cozy and secluded. We really felt like we were in the woods but also tot too far from great restaurants and hiking. Hosts were very helpful and check in process was a breeze. We will definitely be coming back.

We stayed for a month to escape the city, and the house was great to give us extra space after being cooped up in our apartment for so long and allow us to be outside in the yard without masks. It was especially great to be somewhere with family-friendly perks like a gate for the stairs, outlet covers, and lots of books and toys (they had a number of balls, trucks, lap piano, toddler and floor puzzles, and games for older kids). The main floor is especially nice and cozy with a lot of light, lots of beautiful wood, a fireplace, and a huge deck. There's plenty to do within anywhere from a 5-30 minute drive, with playgrounds in Kirkside Park and in the town of Fleishmann, Saturday farmer's market, the old trains in Arkville (you are allowed to go look at them even though they are not running right now), John Burroughs house, and of course many hikes or walks with a large variety of ease/scenery (waterfalls, ponds, mountains). Takeout pizza from Chappie's and the wine store in town is doing curbside pickup. While it would have been great to just be on vacation, given the circumstances we were working remotely and the internet worked perfectly well with no issues at all for many Zoom calls and wifi calling; it was a little slow for VPN but could still do so. And just being at the house was very nice, with a huge deck, a grill, the firepit, and the rail trail that goes to town right there. It was a really nice stay and a memorable change of scenery that we were thankful to have this year.
